His impressions of participating in the World Masters Games 2017 Auckland

Yoshihito Tasaka, a Weightlifting competitor, lives in Ehime Prefecture. At this World Masters Games 2017, he participated in Weightlifting in the M50 rank (ages between 50~54) – 85kg class. Participation in the WMG was the second time in eight years since the WMG Sydney 2009.
He earned a silver medal. “I got a bronze medal in the Sydney Games, and now I have a better color,” he said. This was a great accomplishment to him.
At the AUT Millennium, the competition venue of the WMG 2017, in addition to Weightlifting that Mr. Tasaka participated in, Swimming, Softball, Basketball and other competitions were held. Therefore, Mr. Tasaka enjoyed watching Swimming and Softball during his free time.
Also, we had a lot of exchange meetings with the weightlifting’s friends from overseas, who met again for the first time in 8 years since the WMG 2009 Sydney, and with other newly met players in the WMG 2017 Auckland. These aspects enriched his participation in the WMG 2017.

The enthusiasm for the World Masters Games 2021 KANSAI

Mr. Tasaka, who was really moved by the experience in the last WMG 2009 Sydney and the WMG 2017 Auckland, aims to participate in the WMG 2021 Kansai.
The World Masters Games is a comprehensive sports competition open for anybody over the age of 30. There are no qualifying tournaments. However, it is one of the few competitions in the World Masters Games, which serves a qualifying tournament for the World Championships.
In the WMG 2021 Kansai, the weightlifting competition will be held in Tokushima Prefecture. Mr. Tasaka lives in Ehime prefecture, located in the same Shikoku District. Regarding the enthusiasm for the WMG 2021 Kansai, he says “In the WMG 2021 Kansai, Weightlifting will be held in Tokushima Prefecture nearby. I want to win the qualifying tournament, so I will do my best to be chosen as a representative.”
