Sport Overview

Orienteering is a sport that involves running through control points indicated on a specially-created map in as little time as possible with the help of a compass. It is a challenging sport that requires map-reading skills, navigation skills and both mental and physical strength. Forest orienteering takes place in a hilly area and is divided into middle-distance and long-distance events depending on the distance or time limit.

(1)Age requirement: Minimum age is 35 (born on or before 31st December 1986)
(2)Licence: ID of IOF is required for entry.

(3)Remarks
 Upon receiving entry for the orienteering competition, athletes will receive a variety of handouts, including the bulletin 2 (program), number bibs, SI (for rental), model event map, various vouchers and the like. At the EC, information on the completion as well as information on transportation, accommodation, tourism and the like will be provided.
