2020/5/14In celebration of One Year to go to the World Masters Games 2021 Kansai

We are celebrating today for the remark of one year to go to the World Masters Games 2021 Kansai. In conjunction of our announcement made on 31 March 2020 that we are striving to hold the Games from 14 May 2021, as originally planned, which can be realized with the assumption that this unprecedented Coronavirus pandemic will come to an end as we sincerely hope.

Based on this basic concept, we have been working together with related organisations and more to prepare for the holding of the Games. In particular, we will collect information from related organisations and more in order to respond firmly to the newly arisen issues that have been clarified in regard to the postponement of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games to July 2021, which creates large effect on our Games.

At this moment, many people around the world are instructed to stay at home due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The Organising Committee of the World Masters Games 2021 Kansai has started the “#Stay Active” project that is the project to share videos featuring training and sports which can be done at home with people around the world. The video posted with “#Stay Active” and “#wmg2021” will be put up on the Games official website from 14 May 2020. Please join the project and share your video with us.

We will continue to steadily prepare for the 10th World Masters Games, the WMG2021 Kansai Games in order to deliver a safe Games for participants, to create at most excitement for the first hosting of International Lifelong Sports competition in Asia, and to meet the expectations of many people who loves Sports, all of which leads to the success of the Games.
