Sport Overview

Postponement has been decided for the World Masters Games 2021 Kansai.
The new dates are being arranged.
Please note that the followings are the information before the postponement was confirmed.

A martial art originating in Japan, Judo is a sport that places great value on developing a spirit of respect as represented by the expression “Judo begins with a bow and ends with a bow”. The first competitor to earn an “ippon” wins the match. A competitor can earn an ippon by successfully executing a technique and subduing the opponent. A “waza-ari” is awarded when a technique does not meet all the requirements for an ippon, and two waza-ari are equivalent to an ippon.
