Sport Overview

Postponement has been decided for the World Masters Games 2021 Kansai.
The new dates are being arranged.
Please note that the followings are the information before the postponement was confirmed.



Duathlon involves the events held in triathlon with the exception of swimming. In the World Masters Games 2021 Kansai, the duathlon race will be held in a course 55km long in total, consisting of long-distance running (10km) and cycling (bicycle road race) (40km).

Eligibility

■Standard Event
(1) Domestic Athlete (Residents in Japan)

 ・The athletes must have a 2022 JTU membership
 ・The athletes must enter a JTU membership number (10 digits and 2 digits) at registration.
  * Furthermore, prior to the JTU's registration start for 2022, the athletes must enter the membership number (10 digits and 2 digits) valid at the time of entry. After JTU membership registration for 2022 is completed, athletes must re-enter membership number at 'registration status' of the entry system.
 ・Athletes must be 'a finisher of the 2019 or 2021 JTU Age Group Ranking Race' or 'a finisher of a duathlon race organized/co-organized/sponsored by JTU in 2019, 2020, or 2021'.
 ・Additionally, finishers of the Suigo-Itaco Triathlon, Osaka Castle Triathlon, and Nagaragawa International Triathlon, in 2020 are eligible to participate.
 ・The qualifications for those with disabilities who participate in the standard event are based on the qualifications for the standard event.
 ・Please mark your record on the overall result of the qualifying events and upload it at the time of entry.
 ・If you are not a finisher of one of the qualifying events in 2019, 2020 or 2021, your entry will be cancelled.

(2) International Athletes (Residents in the other countries)
 ・The athletes must register for a JTU one day membership (registration fee: 1,000 yen)
 ・For international atheletes who will register with JTU in 2022, the refund will be made at the athlete briefing on the Saturday 28th May (tentative).

■Sprint (Para-duathlon) Event
(1) Domestic Athletes (Residents in Japan)

 ・The athletes must have a 2022 JTU membership
 ・The athletes must enter a JTU membership number (10 digits and 2 digits) at registration.
  * Furthermore, prior to the JTU's registration start for 2022, the athletes must enter the membership numbers (10 digits and 2 digits) valid at the time of entry. After JTU membership registration for 2022 is completed, athletes must re-enter membership numbers at 'registration status' of the entry system.
 ・Please enter the name of the completed event in the domestic / overseas paratriathlon / triathlon/duathlon race in 2019, 2020, or 2021.
 ・Please mark your record on the overall result of the completed event and upload it when you enter.

(2) International Athletes (Residents in the other countries)
 ・The athletes must register for a JTU one day membership (registration fee: 1,000 yen)
 ・For international atheletes who will register with JTU in 2022, the refund will be made at the Athelete briefing on Saturday 28th May (tentative).

Age Requirement

Minimum age is 30 (born on or before 31st December 1992)
In line with the sport-specific rules, an athlete must compete in their designated age group, with your age determined as at 31st December 2022.
For example, if you are 39 during the event but have turned 40 by 31st December 2022, you would compete in the 40-44 age category.
